Frequently Asked Questions

What should I expect from our initial session?

The initial session is 60-minutes long and is a time for us to get to know each other. I value connecting with you and building a relationship—trust is essential for our work together! During this time I will learn about you, how you have related to food and your body over time, any nutrition-related health problems, and where you hope to end up after our work together.

Are sessions conducted over the phone?

Although I can conduct sessions over the phone, I prefer being able to see my clients via Doxy.me. This is similar to Skype or Facetime, but is HIPAA compliant and does not require downloading any software or application. You will receive a link prior to our session.

What is your pricing?

What forms of payment do you take?

I accept all major credit cards, debit cards, paypal, and venmo. Depending on your state and HSA company, I may be able to accept your HSA card.

Do You Accept insurance?

I currently am not in network with any insurance providers in Oklahoma. For local clients, I can provide a superbill for you to report to your insurance company for out-of-network benefits.

What is your philosophy on food?

To see my values, click here. I believe that all foods fit into a nutritious diet, and that fun foods are ESSENTIAL for a healthy body and mind. I also believe that we live in a very stressful world and frequently don’t eat enough overal or enough variety, which over time can cause signs and symptoms. I want to help my clients fuel their bodies without food rules so that they can feel their best.

Will you help me lose weight?

My approach to food and health is weight neutral. Depending on your body and your current food behaviors, weight may change (up or down). In some cases, weight gain is necessary in order to be healthy physically and mentally. Research shows that the pursuit of weight loss is not only counterproductive, but also harmful. As a result, I focus on incorporating healthful behaviors, nourishing your body adequately, learning to listen to and honor your body’s wise cues, and respecting your body. You are so much more than the size of your body!

What do you believe regarding the Bible?

I believe that the Bible is the Word of God and is infallible and inerrant. I believe that Jesus was God incarnate, fully man and fully God; that He lived a perfect sinless life, died on a cross, and rose three days later. I believe that through Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection we now have access to the Father and can be adopted as His children. I believe the Gospel is the foundation upon which we live our lives.
